As you know from reading my blog thus far, in the famous words of the Big Purple Dinosaur, I LOVE TO LEARN!!!

Ok, ok, I have kids, so shoot me for the reference;). LOL

I decided to stop just learning, and start taking action, and it has literally changed my life! I have mastered traffic generation, and I continue to add to my arsenal daily, so I can keep you find folks up to date with the BEST ways to generate traffic for your business.

If you have a great product or service, and you can’t get it in front of “eyeballs” aka people who want to buy it, then you are going to be a broke business owner, with a great product or service.

Seriously……

Learning how to get your business seen is the true way to success. It doesn’t matter if you are online, or offline, it is true.

In a few minutes I am going to let you in on how to promote on youtube the right way, so that you actually get customers/leads.

I will tell you that I don’t really like being on camera, and don’t like making videos, so youtube is not my personal favorite strategy, but it is really affordable, and a great strategy for people starting out online that don’t mind being in or making videos.

Why Youtube you ask?……..I’ll tell you why…because Youtube is the biggitty bomb!!

Youtube is owned by Google, and it is a great way to get free exposure in a reasonable time-frame

How To Promote On Youtube The Right Way

Promoting on Youtube as I said is an affordable, and effective way to get your business seen by thousands or even millions of people.

There has been no better time for small business to actually be able to compete with the big boys…….never before have you been able to tell the world about what you have to offer without spending a fortune.

Below I am revealing the most effective way I have found for my clients to generate leads/customers using the Youtube vehicle, so if you like to get to where you are going the right way, then buckle up and hit the gas……….

1. Get Youtube channel

I know this is stating this obvious here, but I do have a few local clients that did not have a Youtube channel……..

Create a gmail account, and then get your youtube channel up and running…..

2. Create a video with valuable content

Creating good content is a mizzy must! LOL You gotta do it.

You might be wondering, well Kay, what the heck do I create content around??

If you need content ideas, start with:

  • Your awesome product review
  • Service review
  • Tips, or how to’s
  • News that your target audience would be interested in
  • Tutorial screen capture
  • Narrate slides from a powerpoint about your company
  • Interviews with a message your audience might want to see (oovoo.com would be great for the interview)

Remember, you only have a few seconds to capture the viewers attention, and make them want to know more about what you are talking about. Time is an investment, so share content that makes people want to invest their time with you on your video.

Tell a story….remember facts tell and stories sell:)

You know what your ideal customers wants right?

So create a video that speaks to what they want, and solves their problem.

I will tell you that if you don’t know your ideal customers, you better learn who they are really fast, if you want to have a truly successful marketing campaign. If you have trouble doing this, contact me, and I would be happy to help get you started.

To record your video you can use:

  • Camtasia Studio (fee involved)
  • Screencat-o-matic (free)
  • Google hangouts (free)

Now that you have that extraordinary content, that will melt the hearts of your customers nationwide, it’s time to upload that puppy:)

3. Make sure your video gets found

This is crucial in your marketing efforts, remember what I said….you can have a great product but if no-one knows about it…….

To make sure your video gets noticed, do the following:

  • Make a compelling/ engaging title-Pick a keyword to use in your title that you want to be found for, then add an attention grabber at the end. For example: Savings Accounts: 3 things you should know before opening your account. (my keyword here is savings account)
  • Fill out video description thoroughly-Make sure you do this! I see so many people that spend their time making these videos,and then they don’t even bother to add a description at all…..this is a BIG mistake! Also add your website link to the beginning of the description. This is important because sometimes only the first 2 sentences of the description is actually published. Also use your keyword in your description, so that people know your video is relevant to the keyword. Add youtube video link to the end of the description.
  • Tags- Make sure to add relevant tags of keywords that your video is about. Make sure that you list the most important tags first. 5 tags or less of the most important keywords is enough.
  • Make Video Public- Make sure your video is set to public, and not private. This is the only way it will be found!
  • Custom Thumbnails- Image means alot. Use custom thumbnail images that will make people want to click on your video.  Think of your video as an ad, if an ad image is poor, then it will not do as well as an ad with a great image.

4. Post your video link

Use your video link or embed code on the following sources:

  • Your facebook page
  • Your facebook group
  • Google community groups
  • Linkedin groups that are relevant to what you are offering, or where your customers hang out
  • Ping the site on pingler.com. Some people say, why ping when Google owns Youtube, but when I ping a video link vs. not pinging, it works well for me:)

5. Post Frequently

Now posting videos is very important! The more videos you post, the more opportunities you have for someone to view your awesome offer. I will use a small number so we are on the same page…….

If you want 100 views to your offer/video, you can post 1 video and hope it gets 100 views, or you can post 10 videos, and hope they each get atleast 10 views…..

Which one do you think is easier?

Producing a large number of videos will get you to a great place in your business, and give you maximum exposure

Now you can choose to do all of it or some of it, but if you don’t do it the way I have outlined, please don’t yell that the strategy isn’t working…it works, and I know it does because I use it! LOL
